Types of Women’s Underwear

Types of Women’s Underwear
a type of best underwear for women

There are different types of women’s underwear available in the markets. They vary in design, material and are meant to either be worn daily or on special occasions. Below are the types of underwear for women discussed in depth and clarity to help you understand their differences.

·         Boy shorts

These are the female version of male boxers. They provide full coverage; hence they go below your hips a bit, unlike the regular panties. They are designed for everyday use, and some of them are seamless thus convenient to even wear under formal outfits.

·         Seamless

The common materials used to design this type of underwear include: jersey, satin, and silk because they are lightweight and very thin. They don’t have a thick border/edge hence comfortable and are actually the best underwear for women who loathe the attention grabbing panty lines. They are also designed for women who are not comfortable with wearing thongs and G-strings.

·      G-strings

The only difference between G-strings and thongs is that they have thin strings instead of a waistband. They are fancier and offer a narrow coverage.

·         Thongs

Like mentioned above, thongs are similar to G-strings, but they are constructed with a waistband like normal panties with a narrow string running from the front to the rear. They also provide narrow coverage and are very convenient because you don’t have to worry about the panty line showing under your fitting garments.

·         Hipsters

These look like a mix of boyshorts and bikinis because they sit lower on your body unlike regular briefs, but the leg holes are similar to those of bikinis. They also provide full coverage.

·         French cut

The difference between French cut underwear and briefs is that they don’t provide full coverage on your hip area. They appear more vibrant but still offer similar coverage on the upper part.

·         Compressors

Many women opt for compressors instead of shapewear because they provide similar coverage due to their thick waistband. They go all the up your abdominal area; thus they tuck your tummy, but you end up feeling comfortable unlike some shapewear that feels too tight.

·       Briefs

These are what most women are familiar with because they are meant for everyday use. They can either be low-waist or high-waist depending on whether you want maximum coverage or not.

And there you have the major types of women’s undergarments in the market. Whichever you choose, you get value for your money if you know what to look out for in the best women’s underwear, things like type and quality of material, comfort and size.
